Happy 1st birthday Toby. I can’t believe how fast the year has gone. You’ve done a lot little man…including stealing all our our hearts with your wonderful cuddles.
Look how far you’ve come…

I took this picture of Dylan last week. He was looking for a piece of his cracker wondering why the hell I was laughing so hard.
I wish we could slow time down a little bit right now. Dylan is just about to gain independence and will soon be asking for the car keys. He is on the verge of crawling and is incredibly entertaining.

He has just learned to wave and clap and is just figuring out how to give kisses. He says “dad” a lot, but no mum, grrrr. We are counting the days until our trip to Hawaii. I am dreading leaving Dylan for a whole week, but he will be in good hands with my mum and dad, and we are going to have a great time!

Who doesn’t love a naked baby? Well, Dylan sure loves to be naked, so I thought he wouldn’t mind if I put this one up.
I write this from my shiny new laptop that I got for christmas, woohoo. It was a wonderful holiday at my parents house this year. Lots of time to hang out with my oldest friend Tara…34 years and counting.
I have put up a new album of
photos of Dylan and our various travels
Anyone have photos of the new years party to post?
Happy New Year everyone!

My dad used to say that friends will come and go, but your family will always be there for you. The older I get, the more I really appreciate that. I feel extremely lucky that my two best friends are my sister and my husband. I do love spending time with my family…most of the time (every family has baggage). We all had a wonderful thanksgiving together in Seattle, right before getting flattened by a nasty stomach bug.

Most of us got sick to the extent that we hadn’t been sick in a very long time.
We took these photos over the thanksgiving weekend. Our first family photo since the babies were born. My parents sure do seem to love being grandparents, and I can’t say how much I love having them around to spend time with Dylan. Dylan and Toby are starting to interact with each other, which is pretty cute, and very interesting to watch the very early social skills of little people. Dylan gets cuter every day, making wonderful little noises and faces…endless entertainment. I still haven’t slept more than 4 hours at a time since he was born, but that will come soon enough. He’s had a bunch of “firsts” in the last month. He got his first…then second tooth. I think a third is on it’s way.

He went swimming for the first time last weekend. He didn’t freak out, but wasn’t really excited either. Perhaps he really is a pretty laid back little guy. Or he’s reserving comment until he can try it again. He’s also started eating food!
It’s gone pretty well the first few times, hopefully we’ll get him sleeping through the night soon.
I can honestly say I didn’t think motherhood would be this much fun. Aaron and I are really enjoying him, but we’ll have to do some research on where we can send him once he turns two-and-a-half…just for a little while ;) Watching a child discover the world for the first time really does bring some magic into your life, and reminds us that there is joy in simple things. I wish it wasn’t so easy to get bogged down with the worries and the pursuit of “more”.
On a last note, I’d like to reiterate what a fantastic cook Kelsey is! Colin, Kels and Brimley had us over for dinner last night, what a wonderful family they make. Kels made us another fabulous dinner…she makes it look so easy.
One last picture from our weekend in Seattle. Braeden is growing up so fast, and he’s finally through the worst of the two’s and is getting to be really fun again :D
So here’s to family, friends and so many things to be thankful for. Let’s not forget the simple things.

We are loving Victoria! The pace here is so nice, busy enough, but not much traffic and things move a little slower here, people smile, and it’s so beautiful. Dylan changes every day, he’s wonderful…aside from waking up every three hours at night. His smiles are getting bigger and bigger and Aaron has got him giggling a few times. I have put up some
summer photos as well as an album from our trips to
Denman Island and Victoria
I love this picture of Julie holding Dylan at our little place in Victoria.
While I love it here, I am looking forward to getting back to our normal life, my friends and my parents visit in October. Aaron is loving the Cardiology unit here and the hours aren’t too bad. Time to go wipe Dylan’s little nose…he has his first cold compliments of his cousin Braeden.
