Wow. A huge explosion destroyed the Starbucks and neighbouring businesses a block away from our apartment last night. I woke up at about 2:30am to a big boom and within minutes there were a ton of fire trucks roaring into our neighbourhood…which got me out of bed. I went to the living room and saw smoke billowing up across the street from the London Drugs. It was a few hours before I learned what had actually happened. Apparently a huge blast blew up the Starbucks, Taco del Mar and some other stores, as well as spraying glass across six lanes of Broadway street and blowing out windows at London Drugs and a window at the Holiday Inn down the block. Dylan and I went down to check out the damage and take some pictures this morning. It was insane. Aside from the glass and carnage the scene was crawling with police and the media frenzy and their satellite trucks behind miles of police tape. Crazy.

In other news, my baby is 10 months old today. It’s going way too fast. He just started crawling on Saturday. He’s still a little wobbly but it’s adorable watching his little bum waddle down the hall, or to turn around and see him happily following me. He makes us very happy.
